Danger Zone Exhibition
Client: Leeds Museums and Galleries / Abbey House Museum
From hidden hazards to perilous poisons, the Danger Zone exhibition at Abbey House Museum explores alarming accidents, flammable fashions and treacherous toys through Leeds Museum’s collections. This display exposes the risks people took in their daily lives using the simplest of everyday objects.
With an exhibition name as impactive as “Danger Zone”, we wanted to develop a striking identity and design direction that visually expresses this dramatic tone. Our yellow, black and white colour palette was inspired by the universally recognised hazard signs which cover a wide range of dangers including Radiation, Biohazard, Tripping, Chemicals, Gas, Spills, Electrical etc.
As the majority of objects and documented stories are "non-industrial" related, we ensured the identity reflected this by showing three different hazard types (slip / fall, electrical and nature) all of which feature throughout the exhibition.
